COMMUNICATE, MEET, LEARN …

Plastic materials have a pivotal role to play in society … from their use in medical devices and safety protection to helping provide safe and clean drinking water and reducing CO2 emissions through its lightweight and durable properties.

The industry is the third largest employer in the UK manufacturing sector and generates over £20 billion of turnover.  To support this important part of the economy, CREST@UCS, The Polymer Training and Innovation Centre and PS Partnerships & Consultancy have launched the PLASTICS netWORK, a new exciting forum for businesses across the plastics supply chain to communicate, meet and learn.

This informal network will bring together experience and knowledge from across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and the Black Country and provide opportunities for business networking and knowledge transfer on issues such as sustainability, legislation, the environment and skills gaps.

Whether you are a material supplier, processor, packaging manufacturer or use plastics in your products or processes, then the PLASTICS netWORK is for you.  The first event will be held on 20th January and focus on an important topic for us all … plastics and the environment.  With a myriad of legislation, consumer campaigns, regulations and industry initiatives, this virtual event will help you to navigate this confusing maze and show how we can all work together to support this key industry.

The PLASTICS netWORK is for businesses that use plastics in their products, processes or packaging … and we want your input.  What are the key issues affecting your business?  What are the skills gaps you struggle to fill?  Do you need to improve the environmental credentials of your business?  Let us know and future events can be designed to help you answer these questions.

To find out more, register for the FREE event, or just keep up to date with what’s happening, click here or download the PLASTICS netWORK flyer.
