PS Partnerships has successfully supported a large construction client through their ISO 45001:2018 continuing assessment visit.  Carried out as part of their certification assessment programme, the one-day remote audit ensured our client continues to receive OH&S accreditation in recognition of their commitment to health and safety and efforts to implement and promote an active health and safety culture.

As an outsourced part of their team, we work in partnership with our client supporting the development and implementation of their quality, environment and OH&S management systems as well as carrying out internal audits, site audits, management reviews and documentation management and updates.

Recent key updates included the integration of COVID-19 measures enabling key sites to remain operational during the pandemic.  ISO 45001 provides a framework for organisations to manage the differing risks to their employees and workers health and safety.  Many of the core principles of a successful OH&S management system, and set out in ISO 45001:2018, are highly relevant during a pandemic, such as:

  • Worker engagement
  • Clear communication to encourage safe and healthy work practices
  • Leadership and commitment from the top
  • Risk assessment of the health risks to workers
  • Protecting health, safety and well-being at work
  • Prioritising and adapting roles and responsibilities
  • Understanding and managing psychological health and well-being as well as physical health

Health and safety is an absolute priority in the construction sector, for customers, main contractors, management companies and sub-contractors.  Achieving accreditation to ISO 45001:2018 demonstrates compliance, knowledge, training and leadership are maintained to the highest standards.

PS Partnerships understand the risks, opportunities and requirements of a successful occupational health and safety management system for businesses … and for the construction sector.  We can support you with the development and implementation of your management system as well as reviewing and preparing policies, procedures, and processes for responding to potential emergency situations such as a pandemic.
